CURRITUCK COUNTY

A second man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a series of break-ins on the Currituck Outer Banks, where 45 televisions have been stolen.

Michael Thomas Gray, 23, of Barco was charged with five counts of second-degree burglary and five counts of larceny, Currituck County Sheriff Susan Johnson said in a statement.

Gray's bond was set at $90,000 unsecured and $5,000 secured.

Investigators determined that 45 flat-screen and plasma televisions, among other items, are missing, based on 30 break-ins investigated by deputies and from reports from homeowners and real estate companies in Corolla, Johnson said.

The break-ins occurred in March, April and May, she said. Stolen goods are valued at approximately $250,000. Property damage is estimated at $3,000.

Curtis Conant of Camden County was arrested on similar charges last week. The investigation is continuing.
